I am getting all kinds of fabulous reports of Close to Dark song sighting (er, hearings) from Far and also from Wide. This is awesome to me. Please keep up the alerts because every time someone writes me to say, I heard Yes Yes Yes in Bristol Farms! I go all gooey and weepy and No Way-ish.

So far, the afore mentioned song has been heard in:

Bed, Bath, and Beyond (thanks, Nadine)
Home Depot
A truck stop in Idaho
A convenience store in Canada
Bristol Farms
A rock climbing gym in Oakland


And I MYSELF heard it in Washington Mutual, while trying to convince them that I had WAY more than $ 126.00 dollars in my account, for sure. I exclaimed, oh my GOD! so loudly and so sharply and so apropos of nothing that the teller could only assume that I had just spotted a bomb-wearing terrorist directly behind her. She said, WHAT! WHAT! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU, IS THERE A TERRORIST RIGHT BEHIND ME and I tried to explain that whoa that's my SONG, I WROTE AND AM SINGING THE VERY SONG YOU ARE LISTENING TO, and she took a long look at my filthy dog park jacket and my crusty shoes and unbrushed hair. Then she took a look at my account balance. Then she said, Next in line!

And I actually flitted away to the a.t.m. vestibule so I could finish listening. To my song. On the radio.

I told the dogs we were going to cut out lunch and go to twice daily feedings, and they died. (They reanimated for PM chow time. My little Lazuruses. Er, Lazari.)
