And Behold! Another Tour!

02.28.08
Well, I missed writing travel blogs SO much that I'm going on tour again. Because somewhere out there in America, there is someone who's gonna try to light me on fire, or steal my stuff, or ask for my hand in marriage, or teach me to hang-glide/wrestle alligators/throw my voice like a ventriloquist . . . . you know, your basic tour experiences. And I want to describe it ALL to YOU.

Anyway, official dates will presently be posted, but for sure we will begin in my BEAUTIFUL WONDERFUL HOME STATE OF OREGON on May the 12th. At the Doug Fir. In Portland. Which is in my beautiful wonderful home state of Oregon. Yes and YES.

Trailing their instruments and microphones across the country with me will be the talented Quincy Coleman and the lovely Kate Walsh (NOT of Grey's Anatomy). Quincy's a KCRW favorite whose songs you've undoubtedly heard on several big time feature films. Kate is barreling out of the UK right now and receiving lots of accolades from every direction.

And me, well, I enjoy a life long love affair with cheese. If cheese could write musical criticism, I'm sure it would give me very high praise INDEED.

In any case, that's the line-up and you will so want to be there. But this new tour brings up a certain conundrum for me. To wit: it is impossible to bring a different stage outfit for every show on a tour. Imagine the luggage issue. So I pick one get-up and wear it every night (PLEASE don't groan - I wash it). Last tour I went with "Rock 'n' Roll Secretary" as the theme, but I am stuck for ideas this time around. Anyone got a brainstorm? Just to give you parameters, I own a red satin headband, a unicorn t-shirt with "Colorado" written in cursive, a pair of boots hopelessly encrusted with horseshit, and hot water bottle. Work with that and get back to me.

See you out there!

PS Entertainment Weekly did a very nice blurb on me last week, in case you're at the newsstands.
